Refurbishment of approximately 10,000 m² of industrial floors in operating petrochemical process units.
The floor-rehabilitation project at Marun Petrochemical involved renewing approximately 10,000 m² of floors in process units 04 and 05. F.O. Pajand carried out the work while the process units remained in operation, making coordination with live activities, safe access and protection of existing equipment essential to the programme.
The works included controlled removal and chipping of the existing concrete surface, cleaning and preparation of the substrate, and installation of granite flooring to the approved construction details. Industrial polishing was undertaken to provide a consistent surface suitable for movement and cleaning. The planned duration was six months, with work sequencing adapted to operational restrictions.
Operating pipework, cable routes, instrumentation and sensitive process equipment in the work area required dust and vibration control and protective measures. Working on elevated floors also called for safe access systems and careful movement of personnel and materials. The objective was to improve floor durability and personnel safety while reducing future maintenance needs.
