Structural, architectural, electrical and mechanical refurbishment of an occupied National Iranian Drilling Company office building in Ahvaz.
The project involved refurbishing the Maintenance Management office building of the National Iranian Drilling Company in Ahvaz to address deterioration, improve working conditions and upgrade building safety. F.O. Pajand's scope covered structural, architectural, electrical and mechanical refurbishment within a building that remained in administrative use.
Works included repairs to damaged components, new wall and floor finishes, refurbishment of sanitary and service spaces, roof repairs and leak rectification. Facade improvements, repairs to steel members and connections, insulation and painting were included. Electrical and mechanical works covered lighting, cabling, distribution boards, pipework, ducting and air conditioning. Deficiencies in fire detection and firefighting systems were addressed, and emergency-exit routes were improved.
Ahvaz's extreme heat and conditions that contribute to corrosion required appropriate materials and construction methods. Work sequencing also had to minimise disruption to staff using the offices. The overall objective was a more durable, safe and comfortable administrative environment with reduced future maintenance risk.
