Refurbishment and adaptive reuse of an existing core-storage warehouse for drilling, blasting and sampling offices and workshops at Sarcheshmeh.
This project involves refurbishing and converting an existing mineral core-storage warehouse into office and workshop accommodation for drilling, blasting and sampling operations at the Sarcheshmeh Copper Complex. F.O. Pajand is the contractor to the National Iranian Copper Industries Company for the building and building-services works, under an initial twelve-month contract.
The construction scope includes selective demolition, earthworks and concrete operations, fabrication and installation of steel members, and modifications to roof and wall cladding. Internal space planning, masonry, flooring, stone and ceramic finishes, doors and windows, suspended ceilings, insulation and painting adapt the existing building to its new uses.
Electrical and mechanical services include lighting and power outlets, distribution boards, earthing, sanitary services and heating and cooling equipment. Key considerations include integrating new elements with the existing structure, quality control for connections and welding, and safe demolition and refurbishment. The project illustrates the reuse of industrial assets to support specialised mining operations.
