External works and environmental improvements around engineering and energy-management offices at Miduk Mine.
This project covers approximately 3,000 m² of external works around the Engineering and Energy Management administration buildings at the Shahr-e Babak Copper Complex, within Miduk Mine. F.O. Pajand undertook the works for the National Iranian Copper Industries Company to improve access, workplace quality and the organisation of the surrounding industrial area.
The scope includes demolition of worn elements, excavation, grading, stone paving and retaining walls, concrete works and external surfacing. Entrance structures and their foundations, fibre-reinforced concrete, a water feature, stone planters and landscaping are also included. Surface-water and water-feature drainage were improved alongside electrical cabling, distribution boards and external lighting.
Construction close to heavy mining traffic and within an operating complex required coordination with ongoing operations. Dust suppression, stormwater control and the durability of walls and paving were important considerations. The initial programme was six months, combining civil, architectural and building-services activities.
